On Thursday, March 22nd, 2010, United Ways across Alabama gathered on the Capitol Grounds (in the circle of flags area) in Montgomery for a day of advocacy.  Volunteers and supporters were also in attendance.  LIVE UNITED: Give, Advocate, Volunteer.

 Affordable Homes for Katrina Victims in Alabama  

On Friday, May 2nd at 11:00 AM, families devastated by Hurricane Katrina in Choctaw, Greene, Hale, Sumter and Washington Counties will receive the keys to their dreams as United Ways of Alabama, HERO (Hale Empowerment and Revitalization Organization) Housing Resource Center, Habitat for Humanity Hale County Inc., and Rosebay Homes unveil the first 16 of 20 homes to be constructed in the Black Belt Housing Initiative.

Alabama Partnership receives Leadership 18 Grant

The partnership of United Ways of Alabama, River Region United Way, United Way of Southwest Alabama, Red Cross of Central Alabama and the Alabama Gulf Coast American Red Cross Chapter were selected as a recipient of the Leadership 18 Promoting Partnership Grant Fund in the amount of $250,000 for 211 Connects Alabama.
